Permanent Position, Full Time (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) Chalfont St Giles Office, Buckinghamshire

The Role

The main responsibilities of the Deputy Operations Manager will include:

  • To support the Operations Manager in the strategic and operational management of the Society
  • To provide day to day management and support to the Mortgage Administration, Savings and Marketing functions
  • To develop an effective working relationship with all other departments and functions, internal audit, appropriate third party suppliers and the regulators
  • To work with HR to manage/conduct training for all responsible departments
  • To keep abreast of changes in regulation likely to directly or indirectly impact own areas of responsibility
  • Actively highlight to the Operations Manager areas for improvement within own area of responsibility
  • To work positively with the Compliance department to implement change and monitoring plans across managed departments
  • To deputise for the Operations Manager when required

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working within an operations team
  • The ability to ‘lead by example’
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • The ability to work under pressure with decision making responsibilities
  • The ability to work at both a strategic and operational level
