Citizens Advice Bucks are 'Here for Bucks'!

On Wednesday 18th October, we had the opportunity to support Citizens Advice Bucks with the launch of their appeal, ‘Here for Bucks’ – all kicking off with an incredible fundraising event!

This county-wide charity aims to “help people, no matter who they are and whatever their problem”. They are dedicated to offering their assistance to those who are facing issues such as “hunger, homelessness, overwhelming debt, welfare issues, and discrimination.” By focusing their efforts “on prevention and empowerment”, Citizens Advice Bucks are able to help their “clients resolve as many issues” as they can.

With the heightened cost-of-living placing further pressure on many households, the demand for the services provided by this charity, has grown massively. The aim of this appeal is to raise the funds for the recruitment and training costs for ten new volunteer Enquiry Advisers. These extraordinary people will dedicate 3,000 hours to help an additional 2,000 people across Buckinghamshire every year!

The evening itself was a brilliant opportunity to hear from those who have received assistance from Citizens Advice Bucks volunteers. We were also lucky enough to listen to an enlightening speech from the former president of the Law Society of England and Wales, Dr. I. Stephanie Boyce, and even enjoy some comedy from Taskmaster’s Alex Horne!
