Our Annual General Meeting is not only a time for reflection and planning, but it is also an opportunity for our members to shape how we support our community. Each year, our members vote for which local organisation should receive our annual donation and we’re proud to announce that Aylesbury Homeless Action Group (AHAG) was selected as this years’ recipient.
AHAG plays a vital role in our community, working tirelessly to support individuals and families affected by homelessness. Their core mission is simple but powerful: to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. This goal guides everything they do, from frontline outreach to long-term support strategies.
AHAG’s experienced team of support workers meets individuals wherever they are on their journey by providing a wide range of practical services. These include support with benefits and housing advice, mental health and wellbeing services, access to emergency provisions, and the ability to issue Food Bank vouchers.
In recognition of their incredible work and in association with our partners at Heart of Bucks, we were delighted to present James Boultbee, CEO of Aylesbury Homeless Action Group, with a donation of £5,000 at our AGM on 24th April 2025.
“AHAG is working to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring in Aylesbury and the north of Buckinghamshire. Our team see over 600 people every year, people ranging from those at risk of losing their home seeking help to avoid becoming homeless to those people who are sleeping rough on the streets. We provide housing support and advice, mental health support, small grants, emergency food and clothing and we provide some funding directly for emergency accommodation. We're so grateful to have been chosen as the Buckinghamshire Building Society's charity of the year for 2025!” – James Boultbee, CEO of Aylesbury Homeless Action Group.
At Buckinghamshire Building Society, supporting our local community is integral to who we are. The compassionate and practical nature of AHAG’s work is remarkable and we’re proud to be able support them as they make a real difference in the community.
