2023 Community Recap

As 2023 has now come to an end, we’ve been able to take a look back at the past year and the opportunities that we’ve had to support our local community. With your help, we’ve been able to work with a wide variety of different causes, both on our doorstep in Chalfont St Giles and in the wider Buckinghamshire area – we’d thought we’d update you on a few.

Active:

We continued to work with the charity, WizeUp, who deliver financial education and prepare students for their lives after school covering topics such as taxes, student finance and credit scores. We even had the opportunity to sit in on one of their sessions – you can read all about it here.

Closer to home, we’ve continued to be active members of our local village. In 2023, we had the opportunity to sponsor the Coronation Street Party, Village Show and the Christmas Lights Turn On Event. We also worked with our local infant school to sponsor the Strawberry Fayre.

Support:

Every year, our members vote for the charity that they would like us to support at our AGM. In April 2023, South Bucks Hospice were presented with the donation. Since then, they have broadened their range of services including welcoming a new palliative care nurse, purchased new equipment for acupuncture sessions and hosting a number of wellbeing workshops – including their first session on nutrition!

Partner:

As a local business ourselves, we were excited to partner with the SME Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire Business Awards and have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of so many organisations. If you’d like to find out more about the event, including the winners, take a look here

Citizen’s Advice Bucks have been another organisation we partnered with this year. We were the principal supporter for their event, raising funds for ten new volunteer Enquiry Advisers! If you’d like to learn more about the work that CAB does, or about the event itself, click here.

This is just a few of the incredible organisations that we’ve had the opportunity to support over the last year, and we’re looking forward to working with our community more in 2024!
